Job Summary
Odyssey Charter School is seeking an experienced and innovative Elementary Technology Teacher to support student learning through the integration of instructional technology and digital literacy.
The ideal candidate will provide direct instruction in digital citizenship, media literacy, and technology applications while collaborating with teachers to enhance classroom instruction through meaningful technology integration. This role is essential in preparing students to be responsible, informed, and effective digital learners in a diverse and global society.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid, active Delaware Teaching License and Certification in the required content area in accordance with 14 Del. C. § 1531
  • Successful completion of Praxis II exams
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
  • Experience teaching in elementary grades (technology or immersion setting preferred)
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
  • Experience in multicultural and/or multilingual environments preferred
  • Demonstrated collaborative mindset and commitment to global citizenship

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instruction & Technology Integration
  • Deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate technology instruction for students in grades K-5
  • Integrate digital literacy, media literacy, and computer science concepts into instruction
  • Teach students how to locate, evaluate, and use information effectively and responsibly
  • Provide instruction in digital citizenship, including:
    • Safe and appropriate use of technology and social media (e.g., Schoology)
    • Awareness of cyberbullying, cybersecurity, hacking, and digital piracy
    • Responsible online behavior and cyberethics
    • Identifying credible and reliable sources
    • Skills for accessing, analyzing, evaluating, creating, and communicating digital content

Instructional Support & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and administrators to integrate technology into classroom instruction
  • Co-plan and model lessons that incorporate instructional technology and support curriculum goals
  • Assist teachers with integrating social-emotional learning and digital tools into their classrooms
  • Work with the Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment (CIA) Team to identify and implement instructional resources

Technology Tools & Innovation
  • Demonstrate proficiency with instructional technologies including Google Drive, YouTube tools, and other digital platforms
  • Support the use of online video creation and editing tools for student projects
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and innovative instructional practices
  • Apply and share research-based strategies to enhance teaching and learning

Program & Resource Management
  • Support the implementation of the school's 1:1 technology program, including distribution and collection of Chromebooks
  • Assist in selecting, organizing, and maintaining technology resources and equipment
  • Help ensure equitable access to instructional technology for all students

Classroom Environment & Management
  • Establish and maintain a structured, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Promote positive student behavior and responsible technology use
  • Ensure student safety and proper care of equipment and materials

Assessment & Communication
  • Assess student learning and technology proficiency using a variety of tools
  • Maintain accurate records and provide progress updates as required
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
