Texas Biomed is the host institution of the Southwest National Primate Research Center (SNPRC), has unparalleled biocontainment facilities (BSL3 and BSL4), and a dynamic mix of fundamental and translational research supported by government grants, contracts, commercial sponsors and philanthropy.
Texas Biomed seeks to recruit an Anatomic Veterinary Pathologist for a faculty position (open rank). The position provides service activities in Anatomic Veterinary Pathology (NHP and rodent models) that synergize with the Institute's three Scientific Research Programs ( https://www.txbiomed.org/research/ ) to foster Texas Biomed's efforts to become national/international leaders in infectious disease research, and research on vulnerable and susceptible populations. Preferred: Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in one of the 50 United States. Residency training or advanced degree and substantial experience in nonhuman primate clinical and anatomic pathology. Strong knowledge of nonhuman primate pathology and working knowledge of pathology laboratory equipment. Knowledge/experience in molecular pathology, stereological techniques and HALO software. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with scientists in biomedical research and interdisciplinary research teams. Strong knowledge in computer use. Strong leadership and communication skills.
