Summary

TheSenior Director, National Accounts for theBroker Dealer Channel,is responsible for managing and expanding strategic home office relationships with key broker-dealer firms to drive sales of the company's financial products and services. This role develops and executes long-term relationship strategies and near-term business plans that align Vanguard's capabilities with the unique priorities of the client. The Senior Director, National Accounts is expected to embody a growth mindset-approaching challenges as opportunities to learn, adapt, and innovate. This mindset is essential for navigating the evolving needs of broker-dealer partners and aligning with Vanguard's mission of continuous improvement and client-centricity. By fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning, the Senior Director, National Accounts not only drives results but also contributes to a more agile, forward-thinking sales organization.

What it takes

  • Creates and implements strategies to expand distribution opportunities that will maximize Vanguard's exposure for each intermediary advisor firm at the home office level within assigned market segment and geographical territory.
  • Develops, maintains and broadens home office intermediary relationship through regular and constant contact with business leading analysts, investment committees, due diligence professionals, marketing, sales desks and business gatekeepers and thoroughly understands the philosophy and dynamics of the advisor/organization (investment philosophy, client base, product preference, keys goals and challenges, etc.) and acts as a trusted advisor/consultant in creatively matching need with Vanguard products and services. Educates advisors on the benefits of Vanguard and our product offerings.
  • Grows distribution of Vanguard's investment products and related services, with a distinct focus on platform placements, model placements, and field enablement.
  • Partners with select intermediary advisor firms to participate in special events, client seminars, and key producer educational meetings and events to develop, maintain and broaden relationships.
  • Develops a high level of business acumen and expertise related to the capital markets, the investment management industry and marketplace developments. Utilizes this experience, along with product knowledge to be a trusted advisor to client and prospective clients, and positions Vanguard products and services effectively.
  • Achieves sales and sales activity goals within the spirit of Vanguard's Code of Ethics.
  • Works in team environment with field sales executives and other internal business partners that impact the success of the group.
  • Collects and disseminates information back to Vanguard product teams for evaluation. Owns responsibility for reporting sales activities and other key business data.
  • Interacts closely with Sales Managers regarding broad channel and client issues.
  • Leads/participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years Key Accounts sales experience with specific exposure to the Wirehouse and/or Independent Broker-Dealer channel at the home office level.
  • Strong understanding of investment products, broker-dealer distribution, and the regulatory environment.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses or the ability to obtain within 90 days of initial employment.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel a minimum of 60% required.
