The primary duties of the Wichita Transportation Leader include partnering with the MO/KS Transportation Business Group Manager and leadership team with forming a transportation team in Wichita. This position would lead the team development, project delivery, quality control, and business development in Wichita. The HDR Transportation Business Group provides freight rail, transit, highway and roadway, bridges, aviation, real estate services, communications and public involvement, transportation planning, environmental, and construction management services to state, regional, and local public agencies across Kansas.
  • Assist with developing and implementing strategies to grow business and diversify the HDR client base in the Wichita area.
  • Manage, supervise, and mentor staff; provide technical direction and services.
  • Oversee quality of deliverables; manage projects, and market and position HDR for client and project pursuits.
  • Represent HDR in Wichita area community and industry events and functions.
  • Function as a senior project manager on projects in addition to management responsibilities, and also be administratively responsible for the group's staff and technical service functions.
  • Assist the HDR Kansas Transportation leadership team with preparation of annual revenue forecasts and budgets; monitor performance of the business group; and lead business development that matches the interests and skill sets of the Wichita transportation team.
  • Hire, train, and develop technical team members.
  • Experience in the management and development of multi-discipline teams is important.
  • Work cooperatively with MO/KS Transportation Business Group Manager to coordinate services with other business lines in the company.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PE or equivalent licensure preferred.
  • Transportation-related project experience preferred.
  • Business development and ability to cultivate relationships preferred.
  • Local candidates highly preferred.
