Job description

Dental Assistant Trainee

Hiring Range $14.70 to $19.11

Job Summary:

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Dental Assistant Trainee (DAT) Position is a paid SCF employee training that combines classroom instruction with intense hands-on clinical training. Through carefully guided training the DAT will learn to correctly assist the dental team and providers in chairside related duties in all aspects of General Dentistry. Including, but not limited to preventive, restorative, surgical and endodontic treatment. With the help of instructors and mentors the DAT will learn the necessary skills and abilities to demonstrate proficiency to become a Dental Assistant I through progressively more independent work experiences and responsibilities.

The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) Dental Assistant Trainee is a participant in the SCF’s Dental Assistant Training Program and is responsible for learning the skills and abilities in order to demonstrate proficiency to become a Dental Assistant.

Qualifications:

1. 18 years of age or older.

2. High School diploma or GED.

3. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 30 days of hire.

Native Preference: 

Under P.L. 93-638, as amended, the company pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting and training.  SCF Human Resources must receive certification before applicants receive preference.

Compliance with our Employee Health Procedure is a condition of SCF employment.  You are required to agree that you will comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to your first day of employment.  Jobs designated as a Health Care Personnel (HCP) position, requires that you have documentation that you have completed the following immunizations prior to your first day of employment: MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination is required.
