Job description

Wilson & Company is seeking a full-time Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Arizona transportation planning and engineering team. This role will serve state and local agency clients and lead traffic design projects, safety evaluations, and multimodal facility analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage design for intersections, traffic signals, roadway lighting, signage, pavement marking, traffic management systems, and ITS systems.
  • Develop maintenance of traffic (MOT) and sequencing plans.
  • Assist with technical traffic analyses for highways, streets, and multiโ€‘modal facilities.
  • Assist with traffic safety analyses, including Road Safety Audits (RSAs), and identification and design of proposed safety countermeasures.
  • Implement client and internal QA/QC procedures.
  • Assist in developing proposals and marketing strategies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster a collaborative work environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Arizona or ability to obtain licensure within three months.
  • Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) and/or a Road Safety Professional (RSP) Levels 1 or 2 is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in traffic engineering and design.
  • Experience working with relevant industry standards and guidelines, such as MUTCD and AASHTO standards.
  • Proficiency using CAD (MicroStation/AutoCAD), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and/or traffic simulation software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM).
Salary

Salary Range: $100,000 โ€“ $140,000+, depending on experience.
