ABOUT THE ROLE

The Process Project Manager acts as the owner's representative on manufacturing capital projects, leading a team of client and non-client professionals to safely deliver project objectives from conceptual design through operational verification (cradle to grave). This role oversees the construction of process trains, OSD, and clean utilities within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining a disciplined, structured approach grounded in company policies, safety, and regulatory compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Owner's Representative Duties: Act as the owner's representative, ensuring that the project aligns with the owner's vision and requirements. Lead and manage manufacturing capital project consisting of both client and non-client professionals to safely achieve project objectives from conceptual design through operational verification (cradle to grave cycle).
  • Focus on Process, OSD & Clean Utilities Management: Supervise the construction of the building's process trains and clean utilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.
  • Construction Oversight: Manage and oversee the construction of the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring that all aspects of the project are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • On-Site Presence: Be on-site 4 days a week to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure that all work is being performed according to the project plan.
  • Change Order Management: Provide feedback and comments on change orders, ensuring that any modifications are necessary, cost-effective, and do not compromise the project's integrity.
  • Project Delivery: Deliver projects by managing project scope, schedule and budget while identifying and mitigating risks, all while prioritizing Safety First and Quality Always.
  • Project Management Approach: Lead with a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Safety/Environment: Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans for projects. Ensure compliance to safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational verification. Be an active member of the site safety team.
  • Interface/Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with the project team, governance teams, business partners and other stakeholders, as the size of the project may dictate. Facilitate issue resolution, anticipate scope changes, and implement safely with quality, speed, and value.
  • Project Plan & Specification Review: Reviewing project plans and specifications.
  • Contractor Performance Monitoring: Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Site Walkdowns: Conducting regular site walkdowns to review quality and progress.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Detailed Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly.
  • Engineering & Technical Guidance: Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Documentation Management: Maintain documentation of project activities, plans, designs, reports, and updates.
  • Cost & Budget Monitoring: Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Experience serving as owner's representative on manufacturing capital projects, cradle to grave (conceptual design through operational verification).
  • Experience managing construction of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, including process trains, OSD, and clean utilities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Ability to be on-site 4 days a week to monitor progress and manage issues.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedule, and budget, including change order review and risk identification/mitigation.
  • Experience developing and maintaining safety and environmental execution plans, and serving as an active member of a site safety team.
  • Experience developing detailed project plans (scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets) and monitoring project costs and financial status.
  • Engineering background with the ability to provide technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Strong track record of compliance with Company Policies and Procedures and industry/quality standards.

Preferred

  • Experience interfacing with governance teams and business partners on projects of varying size.
  • Experience monitoring contractor performance and contractual obligations, and conducting site walkdowns.
