Job description

Property Officer - Property Control

Responsible for coordinating the management, tracking, and disposal of surplus property and equipment in accordance with established policies and regulations. Maintains records and documentation, oversees related financial activities, and works with internal and external partners to support efficient surplus property operations.

Education and Experience Required:

Degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) and two (2) years of administrative support experience.

Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:

N/A

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of property management principles, procedures, and standards. Knowledge of property disposal laws and regulations. Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain record keeping systems.

  • Liaises with government and commercial suppliers of equipment, furniture, and fixtures to place, sell, or dispose of surplus property and equipment.
  • Coordinates the disposal of surplus property in accordance with established laws and regulations.
  • Conducts physical inspections and codes and designates damaged or excess property for disposal.
  • Maintains detailed records and reports and prepares quarterly summaries of surplus equipment activities.
  • Oversees surplus property income and expense accounts, tracking deposits and expenditures.
  • Prepares required documentation for the disposal of property and equipment.
  • The duties listed are general in nature and are examples of the duties and responsibilities performed and are not meant to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Management retains the right to add or change duties at any time.
