Job description

Atlas Tech, an employee recognized Best Place to Work government contractor, supports the US military by providing Enterprise IT solutions to mission-critical, high-availability, and tactical applications. We are looking for a detail-oriented, results-driven Controller to guide and advance our high-performing Accounting Team. The ideal candidate must possess strong skills in prioritizing, communicating, motivating, documenting, identifying and mitigating risk, and executing a plan for future operational improvements and growth.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of financial statements and reporting to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines and requirements (GAAP, tax, FAR), including continuous communications with our Operation and Contract Teams to ensure industry standards are maintained
  • Oversite and continued design enhancements and automation within our financial ERP system for integrity, compliance, and efficiencies
  • Continued formulation, enhancement, and enforcement of internal policies and procedures that comply with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Support in all aspects of DCAA reporting, including the annual I.C.E. submission and CAS reporting
  • Estimation of short and long-term cash flow, ensuring adequate funding and liquidity
  • Providing guidance and elevating performance for our Accounting Team, including, but not limited to, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Time Administration and Financial Reporting
  • Development of Team Members for potential leadership opportunities
  • Maintaining the integrity of, and timely completion of, various procedures and processes, including journal entries, allocations, and timely account reconciliations and closing schedules
  • Oversight of the annual external financial and compliance audits as required
  • Support of continuous improvement in monthly, quarterly and annual reporting (internal and external) and rate management
  • Partnership in annual and quarterly budgeting processes and monthly budget vs actual analysis and reporting

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA highly preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of the FAR and DCAA compliance in a cost-plus environment
  • Proven experience as a Controller or other similar position(s) (5+ years)
  • People management (6+ years)
  • Proven expertise in Change Management
  • Ability to bring out the problem-solving abilities of others
  • Experience in managing accounting ERP system (e.g. Costpoint or JAMIS)
  • Strong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis
  • If residing out of state, ability to work onsite in the North Charleston office one week per month (Tuesday๏ฟฝThursday) and for Team meetings and training as required

Nice to have:
  • Experience supporting merger and acquisition activities, including financial due diligence and integration
  • Background working with joint ventures, including financial structuring, reporting, and compliance considerations
  • Experience in leading an ERP implementation/conversion
