Job description

Position Description: Purpose: Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of all property financial information
Reports to: Controller
Supervises: Selected Accounting Staff
FLSA: Exempt
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting.
Minimum 5 years accounting experience.
Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
Real estate/property management accounting experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Excel, working knowledge of Word.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong management skills; including supervision, organization, delegation, time management, etc.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Special Licenses or Certificates Required: CPA (preferred)

Essential Functions:
Report property financial information to Controller, and others
Able to recognize and grasp accounting issues readily and apply to Company.
Research new accounting pronouncements for applicability to company (as needed)
Provide information to and receive information from senior management
Perform review of property financial information for accuracy/reasonableness.
Oversee monthly close process for property ledgers to ensure adherence to time schedules
Oversee all financial reporting aspects for fee-managed portfolios.
Oversee preparation of annual audit files.
Coordinate audits with third party independent auditors during annual audit process for multiple portfolios.
Recruit, hire, train and mentor staff.
Oversee work of Accounting Staff
Other Special Projects as required.
