Job description

Role: Tech Pack Designer / Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Tech Pack Designer to develop production-ready technical packages for overseas manufacturing. This role collaborates with design, product development, production, and sourcing teams to ensure products meet quality, brand, and production standards while supporting the development of licensed and wholesale apparel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed, production-ready tech packs for assigned apparel styles.

  • Develop accurate garment flats using Adobe Illustrator.

  • Prepare and maintain technical specifications, including : Construction details, Measurement specifications (Cut & Sew), Sewing instructions, Artwork placement, Trim and label placement, Packaging requirements, Wash and finishing details, Update technical packages throughout the sampling and development process.

  • Ensure accurate sizing and placement of graphics across garment silhouettes.

  • Ensure products comply with licensing guidelines and brand standards.

  • Incorporate required revisions into final production packages.

  • Collaborate with Product Development, Production, Graphics, Merchandising, Sourcing, and Spec teams to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.

  • Communicate daily with overseas factories regarding sample development, construction, revisions, and production updates.

  • Prepare product presentations and development updates for internal and customer meetings.

  • Review prototype, fit, salesman, and production samples.

  • Assist in resolving production issues while maintaining quality standards.

  • Ensure development timelines are met to support on-time deliveries.

  • Maintain organized style files and development documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field preferred.

  • 3-7 years of apparel design and technical design experience.

  • Experience in the wholesale apparel industry is required.

  • Licensed apparel experience is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing processes.

  • Experience working with overseas factories.

  • Ability to manage multiple brands, retailers, and seasonal development calendars.

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience creating technical packages and flat sketches.

  • Strong understanding of artwork sizing and placement for production.

  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
