Purpose of the Role

As our Technical Designer (Senior), you'll play a key role in bridging design intent with technical delivery across our US studio. Acting as the technical lead from design development through to installation, you'll ensure our creative concepts are translated into robust, buildable solutions while maintaining exceptional technical standards throughout every stage of a project. 


This is a US-focused role, supporting the New York studio as its primary responsibility, while collaborating closely with our UK Production team during periods of increased demand. This role requires a detail oriented person with a background in 3D design who can create, interpret and co-ordinate the build documentation required to bring our work to life. You will assist in all aspects of the production process, including costing and procurement, logistics and administration. Your role will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless execution of projects and contributing to the creation of awe-inspiring experiences for our clients.


Alongside project work, you'll own document control and technical coordination processes that improve consistency, reduce project risk and support efficient global delivery.


Technical Design & Project Delivery

• Develop Rhino models from concept through detailed technical design.

• Translate creative ideas into production-ready drawing packages.

• Produce technical documentation for pricing, fabrication and construction.

• Carry out site surveys, feasibility studies and architectural coordination.

• Produce elevations, plans, sections and technical details.

• Identify technical risks and propose practical solutions - eg structural, code, standards etc.


Technical Coordination

• Act as the technical point of contact throughout project delivery.

• Coordinate information between internal teams, clients, consultants and fabricators.

• Support vendor selection, sampling and technical reviews.

• Attend client meetings, site visits and installations.

• Resolve technical queries throughout production.


Document Control

• Own drawing registers, revision management and version control.

• Coordinate external drawing submissions.

• Maintain document control systems across projects.

• Ensure issued documentation is accurate and current.

• Identify documentation gaps before they become site issues.


Vendor & Production Support

• Liaise directly with fabricators and suppliers.

• Coordinate samples and production approvals.

• Support quality control during production and installation.

• Maintain shop drawings and technical records.


What We're Looking For

  • Advanced Rhino modelling
  • Excellent CAD skills
  • Experience interpreting architectural drawings
