Operations Support Analyst

Location: Downtown Brooklyn, NY
Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite
Duration: 12 Months
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Schedule: Overnight and weekend coverage
Primary Shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Operations Support Analyst to join a 24×7 operations team responsible for monitoring critical hardware and software systems across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT operations, system monitoring, ticket management, and troubleshooting across Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments. The role will involve monitoring system health, responding to alarms and alerts, opening tickets, executing pre-written scripts, and assisting system administrators with issue resolution.

This is a fully onsite, in-person position based in downtown Brooklyn, with occasional travel to locations within the regional network and field sites.

Training & Work Schedule
  • Initial Training: 4–6 weeks
  • Training schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Following training, transition to the 3rd shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
  • Regular days off: Thursday into Friday and Friday into Saturday
  • Overnight and weekend work is required.
  • Position is part of a 24×7 operations environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor critical hardware and software systems across multiple environments and locations.
  • Configure and optimize alarms and alerts to reduce nuisance notifications and eliminate unnecessary "white noise."
  • Ensure critical alerts are routed to the appropriate personnel or support teams.
  • Monitor:
    • Facility temperature alerts
    • Server CPU utilization
    • Memory utilization
    • Disk/space utilization
    • APC NetBotz devices
    • Oracle databases
    • SQL databases
    • Server and hardware health
  • Open and manage support tickets when system alerts or operational issues occur.
  • Assist System Administrators with troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
  • Execute pre-written scripts and scheduled jobs across Windows, Linux, and AS/400 environments.
  • Assist in developing and improving tools used to monitor the health of critical systems.
  • Support monitoring of databases, hardware, and infrastructure across a broad range of platforms.
  • Work with IT facility managers and technical teams across multiple locations.
  • Assist with configuration, installation, upgrades, and selection of field hardware when required.
  • Travel to field locations within the regional network and work onsite for extended periods when necessary.
  • Clearly communicate incidents, alerts, and operational issues through phone and email.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and follow established procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in IT operations, systems monitoring, or technical operations support.
  • Experience working in a 24×7 operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of basic Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical issues and operational information via phone and email.
