Job description

Job Title: System Administrator

Location: 635 Capitol St NE,  Salem, Oregon 97301-2532 (Hybrid)

Candidate must be within 50 miles

Inperson interview

Additional Location Details (City, State): Portland, Eugene, Bend, etc. Close to Salem with no overnight travel when in the Salem office

 

I. Background

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) is undertaking two major technology modernization initiatives: the Data Center Modernization (DCM) Project and the Mac to Windows Transition Project.

These projects establish the foundation for ODA''''s enterprise technology strategy by modernizing identity services, infrastructure, server environments, endpoint management, and workstation platforms.

ODA requires an experienced Systems

Administrator to augment internal staff and provide technical expertise throughout these initiatives while also assisting with operational support as needed.

II. Objective

Provide senior-level systems administration services to support planning, implementation, testing, deployment, documentation, operational readiness, and ongoing operations for ODA''''s technology environment during the engagement.

III. Scope of Services

• Support the Data Center Modernization and Mac to Windows Transition projects.

• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Azure, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure.

• Support Microsoft Intune, Group Policy, endpoint management, Windows imaging, workstation deployment, and device lifecycle management.

• Assist with server migrations, identity modernization, domain consolidation, and infrastructure modernization.

• Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge transfer materials.

• Participate in testing, pilot deployments, production implementations, and troubleshooting.

• Provide Tier III technical support and assist with day-to-day operational systems administration activities as assigned.

• Coordinate with ODA staff, project managers, vendors, and stakeholders.

• Perform other related systems administration duties necessary to support project and operational objectives.

IV. Deliverables

The Contractor shall provide:

• Professional systems administration services in accordance with this Statement of Work.

• A monthly status report summarizing work completed, significant accomplishments, issues or risks, and planned work for the following month.

• A monthly invoice reflecting approved hours worked during the reporting period.

V. Period of Performance

September 1, 2026 through February 28, 2027. ODA may extend the engagement by amendment if additional services are required.

VI. Work Location

Hybrid. Remote work is permitted when appropriate; however, the Contractor must be available to work onsite at ODA facilities in Salem, Wilsonville, or other agency locations as required.
