Job description

Description:

Are you a driven Admin Assistant ready to step into a fast-paced, high-impact role where your organization and initiative truly matters? A&K Railroad Materials Inc., a leader in rail manufacturing for over 65 years, is looking for a motivated Admin Assistant to support our Field Operations team. This is an entry level opportunity designed for someone who thrives in a collaborative, hardworking environment and is eager to grow into a long-term career.

We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Admin Assistant who brings strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a team-first mindset. If you are organized, adaptable, and motivated to build a career in operations, this entry level opportunity offers the training, exposure, and advancement potential to get you there.

This Admin Assistant position is 100% onsite in our Salt Lake City office, working Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. You will play a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly by managing documentation, supporting equipment logistics, and ensuring accurate tracking of field activity. As an entry level team member, you’ll gain hands-on exposure to operations, project coordination, and cross-functional communication—ideal for a self-starter who can take ownership and deliver results with minimal direction.

In this Admin Assistant role, you will coordinate inspection records, project documentation, and bid-related data while working closely with Field Operations leadership and the Equipment Manager. You’ll manage expense coding, vendor payments, and assist with timekeeping and payroll entry, all while maintaining accuracy in a high-volume environment. This entry level position requires strong prioritization, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively while collaborating with internal teams and field crews to meet deadlines and support project success.

Requirements:

What you bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong prioritization and communication abilities
  • A collaborative, self-driven approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced setting

We offer a competitive compensation package along with medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, holiday pay, company-paid life insurance and short-term disability, tuition reimbursement, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

If you’re ready to step into an Admin Assistant role where you can contribute immediately and grow with a company that values teamwork and results, click to complete our quick 3-minute application. Our team will be in touch within 24–48 hours.
