Wharton-Smith, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced General Superintendent with Water background for the Palm Beach Gardens, FL area. The General Superintendent is responsible for leading all field operations for assigned business units and projects. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution while maintaining a skilled workforce and supporting self-perform operations. The General Superintendent partners closely with project leadership, preconstruction, and executive teams to manage risk, support project pursuits, and drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee field operations across multiple projects
  • Participate in pre-job planning, constructability reviews, and project pursuits
  • Support development and maintenance of project schedules and production plans
  • Monitor quality, safety, and compliance with project specifications
  • Mentor, develop, and evaluate field management and craft personnel
  • Coordinate manpower, resources, and equipment with project and regional leadership
  • Participate in client, subcontractor, and internal coordination meetings
  • Support equipment utilization, maintenance, and company safety initiatives
  • Assist with project start-ups, audits, reporting, and closeout activities

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 15 years of construction experience, including 10 years as a Superintendent
  • Proven success managing large, complex, multimillion-dollar projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • OSHA 10-hour, First Aid, and CPR certifications preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction scheduling tools
