Job description

We are looking to expand our team by adding an additional Project Superintendent To ensure the successful execution of construction projects by overseeing field operations, and developing high-performing teams all while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism. This individual must have at least 10 to 15 years’ experience with water/ waste water treatment site construction and/or water tank construction projects and proficiency creating and managing 5 week look ahead plans.

Projects may consist of working with the following type of structures spillways, dams, box culverts, bridges, suspended slabs, slabs on grade, stairs, water tanks, parking structures, caissons, channels, drainage, roadway, sidewalks, etc.  Projects vary within the construction trade that can consist of dirt work, concrete, structural steel, utility piping, mechanical piping and equipment, concrete restoration, as well as others.

Position Responsibilities

  • Monitor and drive overall project performance and outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines, budgets, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Oversee workforce scheduling, equipment selection, and operational strategies.
  • Direct and coordinate on-site activities across all trade groups (e.g., skilled laborers, equipment operators).
  • Act as a professional site representative, maintaining clear separation of personal and business relationships.
  • Communicate clear expectations to Assistant Superintendents and Project/General Foremen holding them accountable.
  • Serve as a mentor and leadership model for junior supervisory staff.
  • Manage 3–5 week lookahead schedules and effectively communicate team performance expectations.
  • Coordinate all on-site crews and subcontractors to align with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess project challenges and implement strategies for timeline adherence, risk mitigation, and schedule optimization.
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency by reducing variation and waste while maximizing output.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including redlines, record drawings, and regulatory paperwork.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Encourage collaboration and open communication across all levels.
  • Invest in training opportunities for field leaders to enhance expertise and engagement.
  • Celebrate team achievements, deliver constructive feedback, and involve staff in appropriate decision-making.
  • Enforce safety protocols, provide necessary safety equipment and training, and prioritize a safe jobsite.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Superintendent, Project/General Foreman, Assistant Superintendent, or equivalent role.
  • One of the following educational qualifications:         
    • 4-year degree in Project Management
    • 4-year degree in Civil Engineering
  • Other credentials as approved by upper management
  • Certifications (preferred upon hire, but training will be provided if not current):
  • CDL (Commercial Driver’s License must obtain within 3 months)
  • Technical Skills in cement, forming, mechanical work, excavation, elevations, plan readings and civil construction experience.
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Advanced craft/trade expertise
  • Strong verbal and written communication using construction-related terminology
