Join a Growing Commercial Construction & Development Team

Epoch Construction, a well-established commercial construction and development firm with over 20 years of industry success, is seeking a motivated, driven, and ambitious Assistant Superintendent to join our Austin team.


The Assistant Superintendent plays a key role in supporting the Project Superintendent and Project Manager in the successful execution of commercial construction projects. This position assists in overseeing job site quality, safety, scheduling, coordination, and communication from pre-construction through project completion. The Assistant Superintendent reports directly to the Project Superintendent.


Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with Project Managers, Project Superintendents, project team members, clients, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, neighboring community members, and governmental agencies.
  • Assist with job site setup, logistics, field coordination, and project scheduling.
  • Participate in reviewing project documents to ensure constructability, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Maintain and update project documentation, including RFIs, RFPs, ASIs, submittals, and other project records.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent in developing and implementing site-specific action plans for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractor activities to support project schedules, safety, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate building inspections, subcontractor inspections, and regulatory agency inspections.
  • Conduct daily job site walks with the Superintendent and prepare field reports.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings and coordination meetings.
  • Assist in managing daily job site production, workflow, and overall project performance.
  • Effectively utilize project management and scheduling software to support project execution.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Entry level-2+ years of experience in commercial construction or a related field.
  • General knowledge of commercial construction methods, building systems, and sequencing.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Valid Texas driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely navigate active commercial construction job sites.


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $40,000–$60,000 annually, depending on experience.
