DESCRIPTION:
Seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time, tenure-track teaching position in a junior high school special class for students eligible for the New York State Alternative Assessment. The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of adolescents with significant learning and social needs, as well as strong case-management skills, strategies for individualized academic and life skills instruction and the ability to facilitate the building of independence through community-based instruction opportunities based on the NYSAA dynamic learning maps.
SALARY:
Highly competitive, based on experience and graduate credits, per Rush-Henrietta Central School District Teachers' Contract
QUALIFICATIONS:
New York State Teaching Certification in Special Education (K-12 or 7-12) is required. We are seeking applicants whose career aspiration is to work with students with significant cognitive and developmental needs.
