Location & Compensation

936 7th Street, Novato, California 94945

Pay Range: Minimum $70,304.00. Eligible for monthly performance bonus up to $1,000 based on performance goals.

Position Description

Leads the daily operations of the sales floor at a Retail Store location of Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay to help fund the Goodwill mission of ending unemployment. Assists with leading production room as appropriate. Key responsibilities include people leadership, store operations, customer service, financial management, inventory control, donation processing, and training & development of store Team Members.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute retail operations plan to achieve daily, monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for operating income, revenue, and production.
  • Monitor product levels (floor work, asโ€‘is, recycle, trash, seasonal back stock) daily to meet the bottom line sales budget.
  • Manage payroll and operating costs within budget.
  • Ensure Team Members deliver excellent customer service to donors and customers, deโ€‘scalating situations and finding appropriate solutions.
  • Maintain a clean, wellโ€‘kept store that reflects the Goodwill brand.
  • Partner with community businesses and organizations to promote Goodwillโ€™s mission and serve as a Goodwill ambassador.
  • Act as key holder for the store, closing shift manager, and backup to the Store Manager.
  • Process complex sales transactions, including customer returns.
  • Travel to other Goodwill of the San Francisco Bay locations to assist stores and attend training; transfer to different stores as business needs dictate.
  • Partner with support areas (Asset Protection, Human Resources, Safety, Finance, Learning & Development, etc.) to further business goals and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Maintain regular, consistent inโ€‘person attendance.
  • Build a highโ€‘performing team and manage performance (coaching, discipline, performanceโ€‘improvement plans, and annual reviews), staffing, compensation, and development.
  • Play a critical role in driving company culture change and changeโ€‘management processes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • One year of retail management experience.
  • One year of customer service experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
