Ashland Middle School (Location subject to change at the discretion of the district and student needs.)

2026-2027 SY

Hours:
20 hours per week/2.5 Days per Week, exact days TBD prior at start of School Year
Schedule to be determined based on student needs. (May change at the discretion of the District.)
This position requires, but is not limited to the following:
  • Ability to support instruction in all core subject areas utilizing effective strategies for differentiating instruction utilizing knowledge of curriculum based standards.
    • In class support with identified students clarifying, redirecting, encouraging students.
    • Small group instruction working with identified students clarifying, redirecting, encouraging students in class or pull out.
    • Individual pull out support. Providing one-to-one academic and/or behavioral support for students identified as needing tier II or tier III intervention. Academic support is focused on math and reading/language arts instruction.
  • Ability to support virtual speech and language specially designed instruction sessions with middle school students.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with students utilizing a multi-sensory approach to increase students' social, emotional, and academic successes.
  • Experience and/or training in reading and mathematics learning strategies.
  • Ability to use evidence-based classroom management strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to use evidence-based individual behavior management strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to physically intervene with students utilizing non violent crisis intervention techniques.
  • Ability to effectively use and integrate technology in the instructional support setting.
  • Ability to prepare required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Supervision on playground, including school garden, and in other areas as directed.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other adults within the school.
  • Extensive mobility and willingness to perform job duties outdoors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working positively with students.
  • Experience with reading intervention techniques preferred.
  • Experience in implementing effective learning and behavior interventions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
