Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the execution of PLC-based projects in data center environments. This role works closely with senior Project Managers to assist with procurement, scheduling, documentation, and day-to-day coordination across multiple project sites. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, field-driven team.

Key Responsibilities:

Scheduling & Coordination:

  • Assist in building and maintaining project schedules across multiple active sites.
  • Track milestones, deliverables, and deadlines; flag delays to the lead PM.
  • Coordinate meetings, site visits, and communication between internal teams and subcontractors.

Procurement:

  • Support procurement of materials and equipment in alignment with project timelines and site storage requirements.
  • Obtain quotes, issue purchase orders, and track deliveries.
  • Maintain accurate records of material costs and inventory across projects.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain organized project files, including submittals, RFIs, contracts, and change orders.
  • Assist in compiling close-out documentation and owner training materials.
  • Support accurate billing by tracking labor, materials, and project costs.

Field & Team Support:

  • Attend site visits and project meetings; document action items and follow up on open issues.
  • Support field teams during installation and commissioning phases.
  • Enforce safety and quality standards on site in coordination with the lead PM.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new team members as directed.

Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in project coordination or assistant PM role, preferably in construction, data centers, or industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, data center infrastructure, or low-voltage/controls projects is a strong plus.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Basic understanding of construction scheduling, procurement, and cost tracking.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and team collaboration.
