Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in creating and maintaining a successful program for the institution on the field, in the classroom, and in the community.
Responsibilities
  • Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
  • This position assists with the departments advisement and academic support responsibilities for all student athletes
  • Identifies and recruits potential student athletes
  • Assists the head coach with practice plans and game strategies for upcoming opponents
  • Performs on-field instruction and player development
  • Conducts and supervises individual trainings for student athletes and off-season conditioning
  • Monitors progress of student athletes and implements strategies to ensure academic and athletic success with an emphasis on sportsmanship, integrity, a competitive spirit, and academic success
  • Recruits student athletes for the baseball team
  • Performs administrative duties, including camp coordination, traveling, and executing tasks for community service or campus events
  • Performs assigned duties in a manner consistent with the mission, goals, and core values of the college
  • Maintains sensitivity, understanding, and respect for an academic environment including students, faculty and staff
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one (1) to two (2) years
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
