Rate of Pay: $8.24/hr plus tips

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Saganing Food & Beverage Shift Supervisor, serve guests in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet and take food and beverage orders from customers.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
  • Operate POS (Micros), make change accurately, and issue receipts to customers.
  • Understand and follow all department policies, specifically, the MICROS POS policies.
  • Remain attentive to the guests throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding guest service standards.
  • Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed, polishing glassware and silverware.
  • Set up tables, trays and carts.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards in restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service area; adhere to the company, state and local health board requirements.
  • Promote and sell products and the amenities of Soaring Eagle Landing Casino.
  • Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
  • Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up spills and clutter, and keeping work areas organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Restaurant server experience.


License, Certification, or Special Requirements:

  • Must be able to successfully complete and maintain TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) Certification as part of SELCs commitment to responsible alcohol service throughout employment.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of restaurant operations and food service principles.
  • Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of all menu items including entrees, side dishes, beverages, non-alcoholic, alcoholic, wine and deserts.
  • Skill in utilizing computer equipment and POS systems.
  • Skills in basic math operations.
  • Ability to create a friendly atmosphere and demonstrate excellent customer/guest service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
  • Ability to deal with the public under stressful situations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.


Physical Demands:

  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with delivery of food and drinks.
  • Required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and walking.
  • Normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.


Work Environment:

  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of conditions including hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of equipment and materials.
  • Frequent walking in slippery and wet areas.
  • Exposure to various chemicals.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts are required.
