Overview: Traveling General Laborer

SPAR Marketing Force is growing our traveling retail reset and remodel team! We are seeking reliable and hardworking Traveling General Laborers to support retail remodel, reset, merchandising, and installation projects across national retail locations.

This is a traveling position, ideal for individuals who enjoy working as part of a team, are comfortable being away from home for extended periods, and are willing to travel to different retail locations based on project needs.

As a Traveling General Laborer, you will assist with a variety of hands-on tasks including merchandising resets, shelving updates, fixture installation and removal, signage updates, product movement, and general remodel support. No two projects are exactly alike, and team members should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Travel to various retail locations to support remodel and reset projects
  • Perform general labor tasks associated with retail remodels, resets, and new store projects
  • Assist with merchandising resets and product movement according to project instructions
  • Assist with the installation, removal, relocation, and assembly of shelving and retail fixtures
  • Assist with signage installation and updates
  • Move and organize materials, fixtures, shelving, and merchandise as needed
  • Use basic hand tools and power tools to complete assigned tasks
  • Follow planograms, schematics, project instructions, and direction from onsite leadership
  • Work as part of a team to complete projects safely, accurately, and on schedule
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
  • Communicate questions, issues, or project concerns to onsite leadership
  • Follow all company safety expectations and job site procedures
  • Perform considerable physical activity, including standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in general labor, construction, retail, merchandising, remodeling, warehouse, or similar hands-on work preferred
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for work
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, typically 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Ability to stand and work for 10+ hours
  • Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights up to 40 feet
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools
  • Previous experience with retail fixtures, shelving, racking, or remodel work is a plus
  • Experience operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, order pickers, or reach trucks is preferred; must be willing and able to become certified if required
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license required
  • Personal cell phone and valid email address required
  • Professional appearance and dependable work ethic
  • Appropriate work footwear required on the job site, including steel-toe shoes/boots or inserts
  • Must be comfortable traveling and staying in hotels for project assignments
