Job description

Mary's Woods is looking for an experienced Security Coordinator to join our Security & Transportation team. This role assists the Senior Security Safety and Transportation manager in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, employees, and physical property by ensuring security and safety policies and procedures are being followed, supervising department personnel, assisting with the implementation of safety programs and classes, and adhering to federal, state, and local guidelines for CCRCs.

Mary's Woods is a non-profit senior living community founded in 2001. We offer independent living, assisted living, memory care and residential care in a park-like setting on 40 acres in Lake Oswego. We pride ourselves on our rich heritage, spirit of caring and welcoming culture. We are seeking passionate team members to join us in fulfilling our mission and values.

Below are some of the core responsibilities, experience, and skills needed to be successful:

  • Direct and administer the patrol of the interior and the perimeter of all buildings on the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security concerns, and undesirable conditions.
  • Conduct weekly safety inspections and assist with the Safety Committee monthly meetings.
  • Assist with fire and evacuation drills.
  • Assist in investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities.
  • Direct response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life and/or property.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Assist with safety and security operations and functions including preserving the safety and security of the residents, team members, and property.
  • Assist with the administration and accuracy of all required reports and documentation.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and requests and resolve resident issues in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Oversee campus parking issues (residents, staff, guests, vendors, etc.).
  • Monitor and develop team member performance including, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations, and delivering recognition and reward.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Three (3) years previous safety and security supervisory experience required.
  • Five (5) years total experience within the safety and security industry required.
  • Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) certification required.
  • Law enforcement or military background experience preferred.
  • OSHA and/or CPR certifications preferred.
