Job description

Assists in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activities occurring in the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the unit. Must interface with unit staff, other department staff, physicians, patients, visitors, and patients families.
High school diploma or GED equivalent. Will be required to successfully complete class in Data Processing for unit secretaries. Eight to twelve weeks required to demonstrate skills. Certified Nursing Assistant preferred, but not required.
Required ability to receive and follow instructions and/or directions. Can work independently under the direction of the registered nurse. Concentration may be frequently broken. Must be flexible and able to prioritize. Needs to be able to work at a steady, often hectic, pace sometimes for the entire shift. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
No experience required, but prefer prior hospital experience.
