Foundedin 1985 by Board Chair Hon. John V. Lindsay, Executive Producer Bernard Gersten and Director Gregory Mosher, and led for 33 years by Andre Bishop,LCT is one of the leading nonprofit theaters in the country, producing an annual season of plays and musicals that have been seen by millions around the globe. It is one of 11 autonomous constituents of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.Each year, the three theaters that make up LCT welcome nearly 400,000 audience members to its home on the Lincoln Center campus.


Over the last 40 years, LCT and its outstanding productions have received many of the highest accolades, including 91 Tony Awards, 181 Drama Desk Awards, 84 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 36 Obies, 13 NY Drama Critics Circle Awards, and one Pulitzer Prize, as well as two finalists.

Position Summary:

The Artistic Intern will work closely with the Lincoln Center Theater and LCT3 Artistic Staff, led by Kewsong Lee Artistic Director Lear deBessonet, to bolster ongoing literary and producing projects in the Fall of 2026.


The Artistic Intern will facilitate administrative, artistic, and literary initiatives, with a focus on providing script coverage with the Literary Manager and aiding the Administrator to the Artistic Director on carrying out day-to-day departmental needs.


This position is projected to be from Monday, September 21st - Friday, December 18th. The intern will work in person, 20-25 hours/week (schedule to be determined following hiring process). For this fall position, the role will report directly to the Administrator for the Artistic Director and carry out projects on behalf of the entire artistic team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Administrator to the Artistic Director with daily tasks on behalf of the artistic department.
  • Help maintain script library, script tracking, and script coverage process in close correspondence with the Literary Manager.
  • Aide in preparation for workshops, rehearsals, and special events for our fall creative endeavors.
  • Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives, as assigned.
  • Attend performances, readings, and other events in New York City as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position will have:

  • 1 year of professional experience in artistic administration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; flexibility, curiosity, and the ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, across a wide spectrum of identities and lived/collective experiences.
  • Ability to execute work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite applications, Airtable, and Excel.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, when required.

Compensation & Benefits:

The position pays $18 per hour, working 20-25 hours per week. The start date for the internship will be Monday, September 21st - Friday, December 18th.
