Job Title: Sales Associate, Full or Part Time
Job Purpose:
Every Huck's Market Sales Associate is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of their shift, within company policy, to ensure that the shift contributes to the profitability of the store.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Customer Service
  • Greets all customers promptly (including gasoline intercom) and provides courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standard
  • Ensures that store appearance reflects company expectations and standards
  • Ensures that the store is open and ready for business during all hours
  • Handles all customer conflicts by using our method of MAKE IT RIGHT

General Job Duties
  • Is committed to our Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S)
  • Performs specific tasks as assigned by the Store Manager
  • Follows all federal, state and local laws and ordinances pertaining to the operation of the store
  • Follows the work schedule as posted, unless a change in schedule is arranged with Store Manager
  • Operates shift within company guidelines and policies
  • Ensures Store Manager is made aware of all sales, cash, or operating discrepancies
  • Actively participates in all Company contests
  • Suggestive sales at all times

Accounting
  • Completes a shift checklist according to company policy
  • Properly records all hours worked on the workstation
  • Rings all sales on the sales register, with no exception
  • Accurately records all voids, refunds and price overrides

Human Resources
  • Advises Store Manager of any personnel situations or policy violations having an adverse effect on store operating performance
  • Treats all co-workers and customers with dignity and respect

  • Complies with the Company Responsible Retailing policy

Security
  • Ensures all cash handling procedures are followed
  • Ensures a safe shopping and working environment

  • Ensures cash is only kept in the safe and the register
  • Follows company policy with regard to excessive cash in registers, change funds and safe security as directed by the Store Manager

Merchandising
  • Keeps coolers, drink boxes, store shelves, and displays fully stocked and fronted at all times
  • Properly cleans and maintains equipment and readies high-margin products such as coffee, fountain drinks, etc. as directed by the Store Manager
  • Uses correct pricing as listed on the DSD or grocery book for all merchandise
  • Uses suggestive selling techniques as directed by the Store Manager

Maintenance
  • Keeps store floors clean at all times, with specific responsibilities being assigned by the Store Manager
  • Checks refrigeration equipment for proper performance and temperatures a minimum of once per shift
  • Cleans windows, floors, shelving, counters, gas pumps and parking lot to ensure they remain clean at all times.
  • Follows all items on the shift duty checklist
  • Immediately advises the Store Manager of any maintenance problems.

Safety
  • Ensures that ladders are properly used
  • Ensures that lifting procedures are followed per company policy
  • Ensures that wet floor signs are used, per company policy
  • Reports accidents promptly to the Store Manager and corporate office

Huck's Bucks Loyalty App
  • Actively promote the Huck's Bucks Loyalty app to customers
  • Communicate to customers the benefits of signing up and using the app
  • Monitor transactions for potential misuse of points or discounts
