Job description

Bluestem PACE is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Life Enrichment Associate to join our team. Working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm. At Bluestem PACE, we are committed to providing high-quality, participant-centered care for adults aged 55 and older. As a Life Enrichment Associate, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our participants by supporting and implementing engaging activities that promote physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. Responsibilities
  • Assist the Recreational Therapist in developing, implementing, and coordinating activity programs tailored to the needs and interests of participants.
  • Supervise and facilitate group and individual activities such as arts and crafts, exercise, games, music events, bingo, baking, trivia, and holiday celebrations in the Day Center or Alternative Care Setting.
  • Maintain close contact with participants to ensure their social, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.
  • Monitor and document participants’ engagement and progress in activities, maintaining accurate records as required by state and federal regulations.
  • Read and follow care plans to provide appropriate daily activities for each participant.
  • Stay informed about current regulations and standards, and assist in developing policies and procedures as needed.
  • Complete required paperwork and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and workflows.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous experience working with older adults in an activity program is required.
  • Ability to work effectively with participants at varying levels of mental and physical functioning.
  • Demonstrated patience, a cheerful disposition, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with participants, staff, and visitors.
  • Physical ability to perform medium work, including exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
