Job description

Atlas Disposal Industries, a leader in waste management and recycling services for over 25 years, is seeking a dedicated Route Manager to join our team in South Sacramento. As an independently owned and locally operated company, Atlas Disposal is committed to supporting the communities we serve and preserving the environment. The Route Manager will play a key role in supervising roll-off and front-load drivers and dispatchers, ensuring safety, productivity, and exceptional customer service. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a company that values its employees and their contributions.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support roll-off and front-load drivers and dispatchers to ensure safety, productivity, and high service standards.
  • Reinforce company safety programs, policies, and OSHA standards.
  • Review and approve timecards and productivity reports.
  • Maintain and review driver files, records, and reports to track performance.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and conduct site checks as needed.
  • Ensure drivers comply with required physicals and drug tests.
  • Conduct in-cab driver observations and field follow-ups.
  • Assist with investigations of injuries or incidents.
  • Provide coaching and disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Assist the dispatch team as needed.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other Route Managers on a rotating shift schedule, starting at 3 am, typically 10 hours per day.
  • Be available for on-call duties on Saturdays once or twice per month or as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Valid CDL A or B License with air brakes required.
  • Experience overseeing drivers in the transportation industry.
  • Knowledge of the waste industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Organized with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods; reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Compensation

$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
