Job description

Nurse Assistant (NA)

Assist RNs and infusion patients in the infusion center and interventional pain clinic.

This job operates in a medical office facility. This role routinely uses standard medical equipment, office equipment such as computers, phones, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, scales, photocopiers, and fax machines.

Polite, sensitive to people, compassionate, ethical conduct, annunciation, communication, critical thinking skills, proficiency which includes reading, writing and active listening skills.

Excellent problem-solving skills.

Able to work as a flexible and helpful team member.

Able to collaborate efficiently with other departments.

Maintain work area free of ePHI to ensure HIPAA compliance.

Must arrive at a time approved by your manager before the first patient is scheduled for the day.

Assist RNs with infusion center patients and help as needed.

Assist RNs and MDs in ketamine and sedation procedure clinic and help as needed.

Apply knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Clean and wipe down infusion chairs, vital sign machines, etc.

Assist with scheduling appointments for patients as needed.

Perform general office duties such as answering telephones, faxing and scanning.

Re-stock infusion center, as well as clean on a daily and weekly basis.

Communicate effectively with RN or provider regarding patient status, abnormal vital signs, etc.

Remove IV catheters and check vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, pulse ox).

Perform tasks that have been delegated by the RN, within scope of practice.

Able to document and look up relevant patient information in EMR system.

This position requires the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Assist patients with walking, standing, or transferring from wheelchair to infusion center chair.

Cleaning restocking infusion center, cabinets, and shelves

This is a contingent position, x2-8 hour shifts per week. Days and hours of work are Wednesday and Thursday; 7a-3p. Potential travel to satellite offices.

Related responsibilities, minimum experience of 1 – 2 years previously held medical assistant or nurse assistant position.
