Job description

POSITION: ENGINEER I
DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE
REPORTS TO: CHIEF ENGINEER

SUMMARY:

To properly repair and maintain the physical asset and provide general support for team workers.

Proficiency in one (1) of the categories listed below in the Attachment ‘A’ plus general knowledge of one (1) other category.  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
  •  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer and review priorities and special projects.
  • Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
  • Maintain for the proper use, cleaning, maintenance and storage of all tools and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work areas.
  • Handle chemicals according to hotel requirements.
  • Ensure security of any assigned keys and beeper.  
  • Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all hotel and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Complete all paperwork and closing duties before leaving and review status of assignments and any follow-up with Chief Engineer.
  • Assist with any special projects assigned.
  • Other duties assigned
