Job description

Position Summary:

Ensures all loads and equipment are lifted and set properly, demonstrating consistent commitment to safety at all times. Works part of crew team or alone to ensure the operations runs smoothly, as instructed and on schedule.

Essential Functions:

  1. Lifting and moving of extremely large or heavy objects- 60%
    1. Properly selects gear for the job
    2. Attach and detach loads with all safety rules and regulations
    3. Communicates and works cooperatively with all job present personnel effectively
    4. Maneuver safely loads through difficult and confined spaces
    5. Reports and escalates all concerns/situations to management immediately
  2. Inspect rigging equipment to ensure it is in good working order-10%
    1. Examine daily and as needed equipment and tools for the job
    2. Fix, monitors, replace and report as needed
  3. Sound judgement, initiative, tenacity and flexibility - 30%

Marginal Functions:

  • Keep up-to-date and willing to comply with all safety standards
  • Embrace the mission, vision and values of TransPak.
  • Understand and support the Project Team Lead
  • Assist with the day to day situations in the field
  • Attend required meetings and trainings
  • Attendance is expected and must be reliable
  • Prepares and communicate reports as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned depending on business needs

Education/Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Forklift certified preferred or the ability to get certified
  • Valid driver's license and ability to be insured as needed
  • Significant work experience as a rigger, 2+ years minimum
  • Experienced with crane assembly and disassembly
  • Good math skills for calculating load requirements
  • Knowledge of rigging equipment
  • Unafraid of heights, climbing ladders and scaffolding between others
  • Basic English communication skills (Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred)
  • Reliable and hardworking, with a team-player attitude
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work extended hours as business needs
