Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is seeking a Welder for performing high‑quality Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on box and cylindrical chambers used in precision manufacturing environments. This role requires the ability to independently interpret engineering drawings, perform accurate fit‑up, and weld in multiple positions while meeting strict quality, safety, and dimensional tolerance requirements. The Welder works closely with engineering and production supervision, identifies drawing discrepancies, and completes required quality and production documentation with minimal oversight.

Job Details:

  • Shifts: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift (Mon-Friday) available
Responsibilities: 
  • Perform high‑quality TIG (GTAW) welding on box and cylindrical chambers
  • Independently set up welding parameters, including tungsten selection, shielding gas, flow rates, and amperage
  • Weld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions with consistent quality
  • Read and interpret moderately complex blueprints and weld symbols
  • Identify drawing discrepancies and communicate feedback to engineering and supervision
  • Layout, fit, tack, and weld components to drawing and specification requirements
  • Safely operate welding support equipment, including floor‑mounted rotary positioners
  • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, rulers, feeler gauges, pi tapes) to verify decimal tolerances
  • Utilize plasma cutting equipment to achieve proper fit‑up
  • Complete moderately complex production and quality documentation with minimal assistance
  • Comply with all company safety, quality, and HR policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: 

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4–7 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of mathematics, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassisted
  • Qualified to operate a 5‑Ton Crane

Preferred:

  • Vocational, trade school, or community college certificate in welding
  • Completion of an accredited welding apprenticeship program
