Job description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Welder/Fabricator to join our team. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations' structural integrity and safety. The ideal candidate will be proficient in various welding, fabricating, and repairing components to meet project specifications and industry standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Welding & Fabricating:
  • Perform welding tasks using various welding processes (e.g., stick, MIG) to join, fabricate, and repair metal components.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Perform cutting with oxy/ acet. torch and or plasma torch.

Maintenance Operations:
  • Maintain, Install, dismantle, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, gearboxes, pumps, and motors.
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as plumbing, hydraulic repairs, and air system servicing.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.

Equipment Maintenance:
  • Conduct routine inspections of welding tools and machinery, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs or replacements.

Construction & Assembly:
  • Construct and assemble new sand plants.
  • Ensure timely and effective maintenance and repair of all equipment within these plants.

Inspection & Reporting:
  • Conduct inspections of equipment as per the company's Prescribed Inspection Schedule.
  • Complete and submit detailed equipment inspection reports.
  • Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet industry standards, project specifications, and quality expectations.
  • Communicating effectively within the team, reporting progress, challenges and potential improvements

Safety & Compliance:
  • Comply with all safety regulations and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Properly handle and store hazardous materials, follow safety protocols for hot work, and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct work in alignment with Federal and State mining laws, as well as Company policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Prior experience as a welder, sand and/or aggregate plant experience a plus.
  • Proficient in various welding techniques, including stick, MIG, and flux-core welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Familiarity with welding codes and standards
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and willingness to learn and implement new welding techniques and technologies.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a diverse team.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and the ability to follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Must have current drivers license and clean MVR.
  • Preferred experience in mining and MSHA safety regulations.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a welding apprenticeship program, vocational training, or equivalent experience in welding.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS?& SENSORY REQUIREMENTS??
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments, including indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to work at heights. Use of man-lift but not limited to climbing with a harness.
