Job description

Job Purpose:

- The Parts Counter Salesperson supports Ron Marhofer Auto Family's fixed operations by assisting customers, technicians, and wholesale accounts with parts orders—from lookup and quoting to invoicing and delivery—ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist retail customers, technicians, and wholesale clients with parts orders.

- Look up parts and provide accurate quotes to customers.

- Process invoices, returns, and warranty claims efficiently.

- Ensure timely delivery of parts to customers and maintain inventory accuracy.

- Deliver excellent customer service consistently to all clients.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to facilitate efficient operations.

- Collaborate with other team members to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.

- Stay updated on product knowledge and industry trends to better serve customers.

Required Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

Preferred Education:

- Post-secondary education or automotive/vocational training preferred, but not required.

Required Experience:

- Prior customer service experience required.

- Experience with parts lookup, inventory systems, or retail sales preferred but not mandatory for a motivated candidate willing to learn.

Preferred Experience:

- Previous automotive parts counter, dealership, or auto parts retail experience strongly preferred.

- Experience with manufacturer parts catalogs and dealership management systems (DMS) a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:

- Valid driver's license meeting insurability requirements.

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

- Attention to detail and basic computer proficiency required.

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

- Manufacturer or ASE Parts Specialist Certification preferred.

- Forklift/material-handling experience a plus (training provided).

- Upselling skills and familiarity with automotive parts catalogs and inventory management systems.
