Summary

Applied Laboratories, Inc. currently has openings in our Research and Development Department for a Chemist. The R&D Chemist is responsible for converting product concepts into physical products through formulation, laboratory testing, methods validation, and plant trials in a GMP-regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing laboratory solutions and reagents
  • Performing routine chemical testing of new products under development
  • Supporting microbiological testing activities related to product development or investigations
  • Writing and executing methods validation studies
  • Assisting in development and execution of cleaning and sanitization procedures
  • Maintaining and cleaning R&D equipment and production equipment after R&D use
  • Compiling R&D data, results, and observations
  • Maintaining accurate data records in a laboratory notebook
  • Knowledge of and adherence to GMP regulations
  • Assisting in sending chemical and microbiological samples to outside laboratories
  • Assisting in batching and filling line trials
  • Supporting plant trials and scale-up activities
  • Performing all other duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related scientific field, preferred
  • Experience working in a chemical laboratory, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of chromatography, formulation, and cleaning commercial pharmaceutical equipment
  • cGMP experience is a plus
  • Microbiological training or experience is a plus (e.g., microbiological testing, aseptic techniques, environmental monitoring, bioburden investigations)
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent documentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
