PART TIME RESEARCH SCHOLAR
New York University Tandon School of Engineering
The Modestino Lab at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Part Time Research Scholar to work in electrochemical research focused on redox flow batteries and decoupled water electrolysis.
New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering, located in Brooklyn, NY, is deeply committed to excellence in teaching and learning. Tandon fosters student and faculty innovation and entrepreneurship that make a difference in the world. The Modestino Lab, in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, develops electrochemical technologies that integrate renewable energy into chemical manufacturing and energy storage, including redox-mediated decoupled electrolysis systems.
Responsibilities
Candidates will be responsible for developing analytical techniques, collecting experimental data on redox flow chemistries, analyzing data, and designing experimental campaigns.
Salary range
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is hourly rate $26.37 for part time depending on the candidate's experience and qualification.
Expected start date and period of employment
Expected start date is: July 16, 2026. This position is expected to be for 2 months. Part time appointments would require a work schedule of approximately 19 hours per week.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least a BS in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated background in electrochemistry and wet-lab analytical methods (e.g., titration) as exemplified by a strong academic and research record. Previous experience with flow electrochemistry is desired.
