What are some jobs that involve reptiles?

Jobs that involve reptiles include zookeepers, herpetologists, wildlife rehabilitators, and pet store employees. These roles often require knowledge of reptile care, handling skills, and sometimes specialized certifications. They typically involve working in zoos, research facilities, or pet stores to care for, study, or educate others about reptiles.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In the context of assistant reptiles or related roles, high-paying daily rates are uncommon. Most jobs that pay around $2,000 a day typically involve specialized skills such as consulting, high-level management, or freelance work in fields like finance, law, or technology. These roles often require extensive experience, certifications, or unique expertise.

What jobs pay 400 an hour?

In the field of assistant reptiles or related specialized roles, high hourly rates of $400 are uncommon and typically associated with highly specialized consulting, research, or expert-level positions that require advanced knowledge of herpetology, rare species, or conservation efforts. Such roles may involve consulting for zoos, research institutions, or private collectors and often require advanced degrees, certifications, and extensive experience. Most standard assistant or support roles in reptile care do not reach this pay level.

What jobs pay $10,000 a month without a degree?

Assistant Reptiles is not a recognized job role; however, high-paying jobs without a degree include roles such as sales managers, real estate brokers, or skilled trades like electricians and plumbers, which can pay $10,000 or more monthly with experience. These positions often require strong skills, certifications, or licensing but not necessarily a college degree.

Company Description

CANOBIE LAKE VETERINARY HOSPITAL

Windham, NH    2024 AAHA Practice of the Year    AAHA Accredited 20 Years

Associate Veterinarian - Avian & Exotic Species Focus

Full-Time    4 Days/Week    Monday-Friday Only    No Weekends

Most practices treat exotic medicine as an afterthought. You've spent your career trying to find the one that doesn't.

At Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital, avian and exotic medicine isn't a side service-it's half of who we are. Fifty percent of our patients are birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, pocket pets, and amphibians. We have built our team, our culture, and our systems around delivering top-notch care to every species that walks, hops, slithers, or flies through our door.

If you love the complexity of exotic medicine, thrive in a hospital that actually takes it seriously, and want a role that respects your time and your expertise-keep reading.

Who We Are

Canobie Lake Veterinary Hospital is an 20-year AAHA-accredited general practice and the 2024 AAHA Practice of the Year. We are a multi-species hospital in Windham, NH that has built a genuine reputation for excellence in both companion animal and exotic medicine. Our culture runs on Conscious Care-a trademarked program developed by our owner that centers on compassion for self, team, clients, patients, and community. This isn't a buzzword. It's how we actually operate.

We are partnered with Alliance Animal Health, but our owner-a 28-year veterinary practice veteran and passionate advocate for both her patients and her team-remains deeply invested and actively involved. She has created a hospital where people want to stay, grow, and do their best work.

Your Patients

This is the part that sets us apart. Half of our caseload is avian and exotic, which means you'll spend your days working with the full spectrum of non-traditional species:

  • Birds (psittacines, passerines, raptors, and more)
  • Rabbits
  • Guinea pigs
  • Ferrets
  • Reptiles (lizards, snakes, chelonians, and beyond)
  • Pocket pets (hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, chinchillas)
  • Amphibians

No two days look alike. The diagnostic puzzles are real, the medicine is nuanced, and the clients are devoted. This is exotic medicine done right-with the equipment, the support staff, and the culture to back it up.

Job Description

The Role

As an Associate Veterinarian with an avian and exotic focus, you'll practice at the top of your license across a rich variety of species. You'll work alongside a collaborative team that includes our Customer Experience Team (CET), Technicians (TT), and Veterinary Assistants (VA)-all trained to support multi-species care at a high level.

You'll have the mentorship of experienced colleagues, the backing of a Medical Director, and access to our specialist network-including a boarded surgeon, cardiologist, and two traveling internists. You won't be out on a limb. You'll be supported.

We Protect Your Time

  • Personal assistant checks in/out all your appointments and monitors your task lists all day
  • You do doctor things: exams, diagnostics, treatment plans, surgery, dentals-nothing else
  • We stay on schedule so you walk out on time, every time
  • Monday-Friday only. Your weekends are always yours.
  • Four 10-hour days. Always a 3-day weekend, every week
  • Hospital closes 2 hrs/week for rounds, training, and team development
Qualifications

Who You Are

  • 5+ years of clinical experience, with significant avian and exotic caseload
  • ABVP boarded in Avian or Exotic Companion Mammal medicine preferred-or actively working toward it
  • Comfortable seeing the full spectrum: birds, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, pocket pets, amphibians
  • Strong diagnostician who loves the challenge of exotic medicine
  • Great communicator with devoted exotic pet owners who have big expectations
  • Collaborative and team-oriented-you make everyone around you better
  • Passionate about mentorship and growing alongside a team that invests in learning
  • Open to general companion animal medicine as part of a balanced mixed caseload
