Essential Duties
Graduate assistants support the undergraduate instructional program and work under the supervision of a faculty member who directs their assignments. These positions do not require students to be on campus. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Grading, proctoring, and scoring undergraduate assignments and exams
  • Leading class discussion sections and facilitating in-class activities
  • Helping prepare lecture materials, class activities, and course handouts (copying, proofreading documents)
  • Answering student questions
  • Running research participants and testing online surveys
  • Entering and organizing data
  • Running statistical analyses
  • Conducting literature searches and reviewing research materials
  • Writing literature reviews
  • Helping prepare conference posters, presentations, and publication submissions
  • Other duties as assigned, completed under faculty supervision

Required Qualifications
  • Regular admission into an ASU graduate degree or certification program is required.
  • All graduate students who are awarded assistantships must be enrolled in graduate coursework during the terms of their appointments.
