Job description

Charter Contracting Company, LLC is looking for an experienced Project Manager in the central Connecticut area. Charter is a growing Boston based Civil/Environmental Remediation Contractor with job sites throughout New England. Types of projects include but are not limited to environmental remediation, demolition, excavation, dredging, utility work, landfill cap and closures. All applicants must have a positive attitude, be highly motivated and willing to travel.
The main job duties of this position include:
  • Project Manager will lead project team(s) to meet quality, schedule, cost control, safety, profitability and client satisfaction objectives on assigned project(s)
  • Manage the financial aspects of the project and contract documents to ensure budgets and profit margins are maintained, including the generation of monthly job cost analyses, status reports and schedule updates
  • Coordinate with Superintendent to obtain the personnel resources required to properly staff each project
  • Ensure proper invoices for all assigned projects on a regularly scheduled frequency, and review/negotiate potential project change orders with owner, when necessary
  • Assist Project Engineers with project-related problems or conflict resolution
  • When necessary, actively manage all project related claims with subcontractors, vendors and/or Owners to ensure a timely, cost effective and professional resolution of the matter
  • Ensure adherence to all compliance related issues from insurance requirements, EEO and labor relation policies, and quality control and safety programs
  • Foster team camaraderie, mentor Project Engineers, ensure project staff is fully cognizant of each other’s roles and responsibilities
Candidates must have:
  • Minimum of 3+ years of managerial and supervisory experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
