Project Procurement Manager

Job Title Project Procurement Manager Job Description Project Procurement Manager Vanderlande is seeking a new Project Procurement Manager to serve as the procurement expert during the Project Execution phase, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery of products and services. You will be part of the Project Procurement team within the broader Procurement department. As a Project Procurement Manager, you will be the key point of contact for procurement activities during project execution, collaborating with engineering and project execution teams to minimize risk and ensure successful project delivery and completion. Our global procurement organization enables our projects and business functions by maximizing value and minimizing risks via the procurement of goods and services in a cost-effective and sustainable way. We ensure a resilient and competitive supplier ecosystem and aim to advance towards best-in-class practices, and ensure the organization is efficient, effective, and future-proof. Furthermore, our procurement organization plays an important role in Vanderlandeโ€™s transformation from an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) to a Configure-to-Order (CTO) business model. This new model aims at enhancing value for its customers through increased standardization, scalability, and more competitive solutions.

What will you be doing?

As a Project Procurement Manager, you will be the key point of contact for procurement activities during sales as well as project execution phase, focusing on timely delivery, supplier performance, and risk management. You will execute procurement activities in line with the Supply Plan, initiate and/or manage RFx events for non-itemized items, and trigger escalation in case of delays or issues. Your role is crucial in aligning procurement activities with project timelines and ensuring project success.

Responsibilities

Act as the key point-of-contact for procurement-related activities during the Sales and Project Execution phase, supporting and collaborating with Sales Engineering, project engineering and project execution teams to minimize total project risk and cost Function as the key point-of-contact for procurement-related activities during the Project Sales phase, supporting and collaborating with the sales engineering and sales teams to minimize total project risk and cost. Help shape sales offers to leverage itemized items and ensure competitive procurement-related conditions (e.g., cost, lead times), challenging non-standard specifications to optimize engineering choices towards best practices and cost-efficiency from a procurement perspective. During the sales phase, identify goods or services with long lead times that do not meet project requirements, develop a strategy to ensure feasibility. During the Project Execution phase, execute procurement activities in line with the Supply Plan and relevant category strategies, ensuring the project receives all required products and services on time and in full In case of specifications changes, advise project stakeholders on default products/services and supplier options and provide alternative recommendations or trigger the selection of a new supplier when default suppliers are unsuitable due to specific project requirements In the Project Execution phase, initiate and/or lead RFx events (depending on the applicable category policy, profile and characteristics) for non-itemized products and services, including document creation, evaluation of supplier proposals against predefined criteria, should-cost modelling coordination, and participate in negotiations with suppliers and final supplier selection Update procurement-related information in the project Supply Plan as the project execution process progresses

What do we ask from you?

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience (5-7 years) in procurement, supply chain management, or project execution support within technical or engineering-focused organizations
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, RFx management, and supplier performance management
  • Strong analytical skills to assess project requirements, supplier delivery performance, and potential risks
  • Experience in managing supplier escalations and implementing mitigation strategies for procurement-related disruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations, drive cost savings, while balancing risk and operational needs
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates and insights to project teams
  • Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 5% of the time
