The Project Manager supports the private client book of business with planning, technical solutions, safety and operational excellence. They are the lead estimator and project manager on key projects within the region and support the Area Manager or Operations Manager.

Education:

ยท        Bachelorโ€™s Degree Construction Management, Construction Engineering Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

ยท        OSHA 30 certification preferred.

 

Experience:

ยท        7+ yearsโ€™ experience in heavy civil, mechanical, marine, or underwater construction industries.

ยท        Experience in and advanced knowledge of construction contracts, including general and special terms and conditions.

ยท        Experienced with proven results in claims management and dispute resolution.

ยท        Experience with Design-Build, EPC, ECI, CMAR, and other alternate procurement.

Skills:

ยท        Proficient in a variety of software including HCSS HeavyBid and Microsoft Office Suite.

ยท        Capable of leading and contributing to opportunity pursuits.

ยท        Must be able to develop the right internal team to provide relevant technical solutions to our clients.

ยท        Formulation of technical proposals, including technical means and methods, schedules, and pricing.

ยท        Advanced construction software operating capabilities.

ยท        Excellent technical writing and verbal skills

Responsibilities:

 

ยท        Evaluates specifications to plan procedures, starting and completion times, submittal requirements, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction.

ยท        Confers with and directs supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.

ยท        Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within the workforce.

ยท        Collaborates with management, engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.

ยท        Investigates problems and/or reported incidents; identify and recommend solutions/alternatives as appropriate.

ยท        Identifies project risks and makes recommendations for mitigation measures; maintains a project risk register.

ยท        Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.

ยท        Performs tasks maintaining all health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the project.

ยท        Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs.

ยท        Maintains and measures project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, resolving problems.

ยท        Controls project costs by approving expenditures; administering subcontractor contracts.

ยท        Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.

ยท        Negotiates terms of agreements, drafts contracts, and obtains permits and licenses.

ยท        Understands estimates and negotiates change orders.

ยท        Prepares, negotiates, approves invoicing per the contract.

ยท        Creates, maintains, and submits various reports such as the Management of Cost to Complete report, Management of Work in Progress Report, and daily reports.

ยท        Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.

ยท        Depending on the needs of the company, this candidate may manage multiple small projects concurrently from a regional office, or one single larger project as the on-site project manager. 

ยท        Responsible for overseeing the work of field engineers, project engineers, general foreman and superintendents.    

ยท        Other duties as assigned.
