The Position

An exciting and unique opportunity to accelerate your geotechnical engineering career. AllRock is a fast growing Geotechnical/Materials/Environmental Engineering firm that is looking to add to its current geotechnical team of professionals. This is a unique opportunity to join our multidisciplinary team at AllRock and work on a wide variety of exciting projects. We are looking for a candidate to be in a permanent full-time position in St. Johns.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with geotechnical proposals, field work, project management, data analysis and report writing.
  • Complete technical services for the Company including technical field and laboratory work and reporting.
  • Perform quality control/quality assurance testing and field inspection on various infrastructure and construction projects
  • Laboratory and field testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt.
  • Pile Driver Monitoring.
  • Conduct field inspections, slope assessments and drilling field programs
  • Participating in meetings.
  • Interacting with clients and team members.
  • Assist with engineering calculations for technical reports.
  • Completing tasks within schedule and budget to the satisfaction of our public and private clients.
  • The Employee will ensure the Companies safety program and policies are being followed by themselves and other employees. The Employee will ensure that they are adequately trained and are comfortable completing each task safely.
  • Collaborating with various AllRock staff to best serve the needs of our diverse client base.
  • The Employee will maintain a valid drivers licence and auto insurance and shall notify the owner of the Company if their drivers licence is revoked or suspended.
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • License, insurance and a personal vehicle is required.
  • 0-1 year of relevant work experience.
  • Eligible for federal security clearance.
  • Flexibility to travel.

Preferred Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills (English).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.
  • Previous geotechnical and/or drilling experience would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with proposals writing, report writing and other areas of project related management would be considered an asset.
  • Auto-CAD and geotechnical software (Slope/W, Settle3D etc.) or related experience would be considered an asset.
    Be eligible to become a Registered Professional Engineer in Newfoundland.
