ย Summaryย 

The Project Engineer provides technical support to the field and office teams under the supervision of their Project Manager.ย  The Project Engineer will have the opportunity to be involved in the entire job life cycle.ย  This role will have the opportunity to work in the office aiding the Project Manager in directing and coordinating the drywall and steel stud framing activities in accordance with the project plans and specifications. The Project Engineer will develop a baseline understanding of budgets, plans schedules, invoices, contracts, and change orders. This is an entry-level role, with the ability to grow if the candidate is willing to travel to other projects.

Essential Functionsย 

Primary Responsibilities/Dutiesย 

  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent from the beginning of a project thorough closeout.ย ย 

  • Attend pre-construction meetings and weekly job walks to understand the complete scope while ensuring safety, quality and productions are being met.ย 

  • Maintain a strong knowledge of the projects and work to exceed set standards.ย ย 

  • Use effective communication with internal and external customers.ย ย ย 

  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure all pertinent information is provided; proactive communication with field leaders on bid productions and other preconstruction related information to maintain consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.ย ย ย 

  • Coordinate site logistics with the client to ensure we are meeting/exceeding production goals.ย ย 

  • Review production reports and address any discrepancies with the regional Foreman and Superintendent.ย ย ย 

  • Process purchase orders and field work tickets.ย 

  • Assist with preparing submittal package.ย ย 

Experience and Qualificationsย 

Minimum Qualificationsย 

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal clients.ย ย 

  • Strong computer skills; proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook.ย 

  • Ability to read and comprehend complex documents construction documents i.e., blueprints.ย 

Preferred Qualificationsย ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree; Construction Management, Business, or a related field.ย ย 

  • 0-2 years of related experience.ย ย 

  • An internship within the Construction Industry.ย ย 

  • Detail oriented, thorough and deadline/goal driven.ย 

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be responsive to some disruption.ย 

  • Problem solving mindset.ย 

Sedentary Workย 

  • Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 - 15 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying.ย 

  • Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties.ย 

  • Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.ย 

Travelย 

  • Up to 20% primarily in their designated Market.ย 

  • Ability to complete regular day travel for site visits and client meetings.ย
