Job Overview:
Continental Tide is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to provide technical and programmatic support to Continental Tide’s extensive Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM amp;E) contract base specifically supporting Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management of Continental Tide HM amp;E Contracts and Task Orders out of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD).

Essential duties amp; responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for contract management, oversight and execution under your cognizance.
  • Work closely with the engineers in the AC amp;R branch on execution of all tasks under our contract.
  • Communicate with management/subcontractors/customers regarding CDRLs and internal programmatic initiatives.
  • Contract, delivery, and task order estimating, technical proposal development, estimate review, preparation and formatting.
  • Develop and track project plans via Microsoft project.
  • Assist project execution by streamlining processes from award to project planning (kick-off meetings, team compositions, personnel, schedules, etc) and ensuring the Project Manager/Lead is fully prepared to transition into the process and take the lead.
  • Assist and support the work of other Continental Tide employees including multiple Project / Program Managers and a variety of tasks.
  • Oversees and directs “Program-level” and/or multiple “Project-level” initiatives within the constructs of corporate initiatives and directives.
  • Prepares Status Reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications and overall corporate goals.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Reports to top management and responsible for financial and budgetary projections.
  • Familiar with 9090-310, NAVSEA Standard Items and NAVSSES 4790.2 Series Installation documentation.
  • Performs other tasking/initiatives in a wide range of disciplines as directed.

Requirements:
  • Must possess a REAL ID or U.S. Passport.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, marine, or electrical).
  • Five (5) years of direct experience with US Navy AC amp;R systems and equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience with control systems, variable frequency drives as part of Navy AC Plants.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipboard installation drawings, installation specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is preferred.
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance
  • Familiarity with the NSWCPD organization is a plus
  • Must have the ability to obtain base access and security credentials.
  • Monitor compliance with company Quality and Safety Management Systems, Workmanship standards and Customer requirements.
  • Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and execute multiple assigned tasks.
  • Must be Proficient in Microsoft Project and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel.
