We are currently looking for a Relocation Assistant Project Manager.The purpose of a Relocation Assistant Project Manager is to assist the move team with on-site and day-to-day tasks along with communications and documentation. The Relocation Assistant Project Manager assists in the selection and engagement of a moving contractor and other relocation vendors, including OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), equipment service providers, decontamination vendors, environmental vendors, and other specialty service providers and coordinates pre and post move tasks in addition to the execution of the move itself. The Relocation Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Managers, client stakeholders, and relocation vendors throughout planning, readiness, execution, and post-move activities required to achieve seamless relocations. The role requires regular coordination with client departments including Facilities, Space Planning, Scientific User Groups, Information Technology (IT), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Security, Operations, Real Estate, and Building Management.

This position is expected to be highly visible and client-facing and may require on-site attendance up to five (5) days per week based on client and project requirements


Responsibilities:

Depending on the nature and scope of the project, the Relocation Assistant Project Manager will manage the relocation of biotech and research laboratory equipment, chemicals and biological materials, office furniture, computer equipment, personal crated items, etc.

Relocation Assistant Project Managerresponsibilities will include the following at different stages of the project.

  • Organize and facilitate client meetings, move readiness reviews, logistics walkthroughs, and stakeholder coordination sessions.

  • Develop and maintain move plans, schedules, timelines, move matrices, tagging systems, checklists, and project documentation.

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Project Directors, client stakeholders, and end users to support planning, readiness, execution, and post-move activities.

  • Coordinate with client departments including Facilities, Space Planning, Scientific User Groups, Information Technology (IT), Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Security, Operations, and Building Management.

  • Assist with equipment surveys, inventory validation, location tracking, floor plan coordination, and move planning activities.

  • Coordinate the relocation of biotechnology and research laboratory equipment, scientific instrumentation, chemicals, biological materials, and temperature-sensitive assets.

  • Coordinate relocation vendors including movers, OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), equipment service providers, decontamination vendors, environmental vendors, and other specialty service providers.

  • Support OEM activities including equipment surveys, de-installation, transportation planning, reinstallation, service scheduling, certification, and commissioning support, as required.

  • Coordinate packing instructions, labeling programs, decontamination documentation, move communications, and move readiness activities.

  • Manage loading dock reservations, elevator scheduling, access requirements, and other move logistics.

  • Support coordination of vendor proposals, quotes, purchase orders, invoice reviews, schedule updates, and project action items.

  • Support on-site move execution activities and monitor vendor performance during relocation events.

  • Conduct post-move walkthroughs, support post-move command center activities, and assist with issue resolution and post-move stabilization.

  • Maintain project schedules, meeting minutes, action item logs, move matrices, and project documentation using client-preferred systems and project management tools.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Facilities Management, Project Management, Event Management, Logistics, or a closely related field is highly preferred.

  • 1+ years of relevant experience in the architecture, engineering, construction, facilities, project management, relocation, logistics, event planning, operations, or life sciences industries.

  • Experience supporting laboratory, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, research, office, or facility relocation projects is a plus.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience coordinating project logistics, schedules, meetings, action items, vendors, and stakeholder communications.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Proficient in Bluebeam and AutoCAD.

  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or other project management software is a plus.

  • General understanding of project sequencing, floor plans, drawings, specifications, and project documentation.

  • Ability to work independently while supporting a larger project team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability and willingness to work on-site based on project and client requirements, including up to five (5) days per week when required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project priorities, schedules, and client needs.

Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate's experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
