Overview
The Hotfix team is responsible for delivering urgent, high-impact fixes for enterprise clients. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time-sensitive conditions. The Hotfix Developer ensures client issues are investigated, resolved, and deployed quickly while maintaining data integrity and minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve urgent production issues raised by Success, Support, Project or Account Management.
  • Write and execute SQL queries for data corrections, imports, exports, and reporting fixes.
  • Perform root-cause analysis on transactional data, logs, and system behaviors.
  • Read and understand the PHP/Symfony codebase to troubleshoot issues and confirm system logic.
  • Build and run custom scripts (PHP, SQL) for bulk updates, data migrations, or exports.
  • Deploy fixes safely using internal tools (Phing, etc.) with rollback plans if necessary.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Support, Success, Account Management, Core, etc.) to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
  • Document fixes thoroughly in Jira, including logic, risks, and testing steps.
  • Participate in Hotfix sprint planning, standups, and reviews.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving Hotfix workflows, documentation, and best practices.
  • Provide proactive communication on ticket progress, risks, and blockers.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2–4 years of experience in software development, technical support engineering, or a developer-facing technical role.
  • Strong SQL skills (queries, updates, imports/exports, data validation).
  • Solid understanding of debugging and troubleshooting transactional or log-based systems.
  • Proficiency in PHP and familiarity with the Symfony framework.
  • Experience with Git workflows and deployment pipelines.
  • Familiarity with tools such as MySQL Workbench, Docker, and Graylog (or similar logging tools).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when working with non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
  • Experience building or maintaining exports, reporting tools, or custom client scripts.
  • Familiarity with ACH (Automated Clearing House) processing.
  • Prior experience in client-facing support, success, or technical troubleshooting.
  • Experience documenting technical fixes for non-technical audiences
