About the Opportunity

AppleOne has been tasked with identifying a talented Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager for a well-established, stable Commercial General Contractor in the Charlotte, NC area.

Our client has a strong presence in the commercial construction industry and specializes in ground-up commercial, industrial, tilt-wall, and large-scale construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional who wants to build a long-term career with a respected Commercial GC and gain exposure to significant ground-up projects.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with a Commercial General Contractor and a solid understanding of construction coordination, project documentation, and field operations.


Position Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project coordination.
  • Manage and track project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout documents.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Track project schedules, material deliveries, procurement, and subcontractor progress.
  • Assist with permitting and inspection processes.
  • Maintain organized and accurate project files and construction documentation.
  • Support budget tracking, cost reporting, and project reporting.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates to project teams.
  • Assist Project Managers with subcontractor and vendor coordination.
  • Help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.


Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field required.
  • 2+ years of Project Engineer experience with a Commercial General Contractor preferred.
  • Experience supporting ground-up commercial construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to industrial, tilt-wall, warehouse, distribution, or large-scale commercial construction is a plus.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
  • Stable work history preferred.
  • Motivated to learn, take on additional responsibility, and grow within a commercial construction organization.
